Jeffrey R.A. Edwards is senior associate at the law firm of Mastagni Holstedt, APC, where his practice focuses on labor and employment law with an emphasis on civil litigation for labor union clients. Mr. Edwards is a pragmatic and energetic litigator who takes on complex civil, class-action and collective-action cases involving California collective bargaining statutes (Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, Educational Employment Relations Act, Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act, Dills Act, and Excluded Employees Bill of Rights), federal and state labor statutes such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, the California Labor Code, the Public Safety Officers' Procedural Bill of Rights, and the Firefighters Bill of Rights. Mr. Edwards also represents clients in administrative proceedings involving the CalPERS and CalSTRS pension systems.
Mr. Edwards received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his law degree from the University of California, Davis. He was inducted into the Order of Barristers during law school.
Mr. Edwards serves on the board of directors of the Sacramento Law Foundation and is a past board member of the Sacramento County Bar Association and SacLEGAL, Sacramento's LGBT bar association. He does pro bono work for the National Latino Peace Officers Association.
