Ahren A. Tiller is a supervising attorney at the Bankruptcy Law Center in San Diego, California. A top-rated lawyer with more than 13 years of legal experience, Mr. Tiller has devoted nearly his entire practice to bankruptcy law, and he has achieved notable success assisting thousands of clients with their needs involving Chapter 7, Chapter 13 and Chapter 11 bankruptcies. He has also prosecuted numerous bankruptcy cases, netting more than $1 million in verdicts.
As evidence of his commitment to his field, he holds the distinction of being one of only four attorneys in the state to hold certification as a specialist in three related areas: bankruptcy law, consumer bankruptcy law and business bankruptcy law. He is also the youngest attorney in the state to have achieved all three certifications. Over the course of his career, Mr. Tiller has successfully handled more than 7,000 bankruptcy cases across the state, and he has served as debtor’s counsel for numerous Chapter 11 reorganizations.
Mr. Tiller also serves as lead attorney for a number of class actions on behalf of consumers in federal courts under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act and California’s Unfair Competition Law. He also has extensive experience with appeals, successfully arguing many cases before the California Circuit Court of Appeals for the 2nd and 4th Circuits as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
A 2003 graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Mr. Tiller obtained his Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2006. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for all districts in California. A recognized leader in his field, he has conducted numerous continuing legal education seminars on various topics related to bankruptcy law.
Highly active in his legal community, Mr. Tiller is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, among his various other professional affiliations, and he is the past president of the San Diego Bankruptcy Forum, where he still serves on the board. He is also a board member of the California Bankruptcy Forum, and he has served on a number of committees for various professional legal organizations devoted to bankruptcy law.
