Mr. Simons is the Author of "California Drunk Driving Law" considered to be the "Bible" of DUI Defense in California.  He is the recipient of the Kuwatch Award for Life Time Achievements in DUI Defense from the California DUI Lawyers Association.  

Barry T. Simons has represented over 8500 clients in Southern California since 1972.  He focuses his practice on DUI, defending people who face charges ranging from 2d Degree DUI Murder; Vehicular Manslughter and DUI with Injury to multiple offense DUI charges involving prior convictions;1st offenses and underage DUI charges against minors under 21.   Mr. Simons has extensive experience in defending DUI charges involving illegal drugs; prescriptions and marijuana.

For the past 40 years Mr. Simons has successfully challenged law enforcement methods including the breath test, field sobriety tests and the forcing of people to submit to a blood test against their will. He has taken his challenges to the United States Supreme Court as an advocate for people's civil rights on four seperate occasions. His excellent code of ethics and dedication to providing the best legal skills possible has earned him the highest possible rating of AV-Preeminent* from Martindale Hubbell and an Avvo rating of 10.0, which is considered superb.

Mr. Simons helped found the National College for DUI Defense and served as its dean. He remains heavily involved in the legal community and has served in a number of positions for local bar associations. In addition, Mr. Simons has shared his knowledge and experience with others, giving numerous lectures on a wide range of legal topics involving DUI law. He is the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for constitutional law and the American Jurisprudence Award for criminal law. Furthermore, he is certified as a expert in DUI defense through the National College for DUI Defense pursuant to the standards of the American Bar Association (1 of 6 in Caliofnria). Mr Simons has also served as a temporary judge.
