Leslie A. Ms. Barnett received a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University and then earned her Master of Social Work from California State University, Fresno, in 1973. After working 15 years as a geriatric social worker, she attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California, receiving her Juris Doctor. Ms. Barnett is the founder of the Law Office of Lesliei Barnett, having opened office in 1993 In 2002 she earned her certification as an elder law attorney through the National Elder Law Foundation.
She is admitted to the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Beverly Hills Bar Association.
With her knowledge of elder care issues and legal matters for older California residents, Ms. Barnett has served on the board for the Alzheimer’s Association, the Center for Health Care Rights and H.E.L.P. She is a past president of the Southern California Council of Elder Law Attorneys. She was elected to serve on the Mid City West Community Council, a certified neighborhood council in Los Angeles, California, that advises agencies, city departments and other municipal groups on community matters.
