In December 2014, Ms. Jain obtained one of Southern California's top 25 verdicts for $3.3 million in a whistleblower case against the Los Angeles Unified School District on behalf of a retired Air Force officer and Junior ROTC instructor.

Representing a diverse range of clients as part of her practice, Ms. Jain has argued in front of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the Supreme Court of Texas. She has also represented clients before the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Texas State Office of Administrative Hearings and the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board.

Committed to ensuring access to courts and the right to a jury for all litigants, Ms. Jain presented argument before the Texas Supreme Court successfully challenging  the systematic exclusion of African Americans from a civil jury.  The Texas Supreme Court 2008 opinion in Davis v. Fisk Electric is now required reading for trial lawyers in Texas.

Before pursuing a legal career, Ms. Jain worked in the marketing and market research industries. She also previously worked on an international project in Liberia, West Africa as a training officer.  Along with her litigation practice, Ms. Jain offers advice and strategic counseling to clients in matters involving employment contracts, non-compete agreements and severance contracts.

Ms. Jain is a graduate of the University of Houston Law Center and has been licensed to practice law in since 1987. In 1994, she was board-certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Ms. Jain is a member of professional organizations including the Los Angeles County Bar Association,  the National Employment Lawyers Association, and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. She is on the Executive Board of the California Employment Lawyers Association. In 2008, Ms. Jain was honored by the State Bar of Texas for her contributions and awarded the Frances Campbell Advocacy Award. This award is one of the three Founders' Awards given annually by the State Bar of Texas.

Verdicts and Settlements:

  • Archie Roundtree v. Los Angeles Unified School District, et. al.   In December 2014, a Los Angeles jury awarded retired Air Force major and Junior ROTC officer 3.3 million dollars on his claims for whistleblower retaliation and defamation against Los Angeles Unified School District and two LAUSD administrators.  In addition to the jury award, the court awarded attorney's fees against LAUSD under the Private Attorney General theory for enforcing an important right affecting public interest.
