She then went on to pursue her legal education at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law where she received her Juris Doctor in 1998. Ms. Winthers is admitted to practice before all of the state courts of Colorado as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit.

Ms. Winthers is dedicated to the enhancement of her profession as well as progress in the medical field. She has lectured to medical associations and health care providers regarding proving medical injuries in the courtroom, and she is the author of a regular column for the Colorado Chiropractic Association, in which she discusses legal and medical issues.
