Born and raised in Connecticut, Adele R. Jacobs is the founder of the Law Offices of Adele R. Jacobs, located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Focusing her practice on personal injury litigation, she represents plaintiffs throughout the state of Connecticut who have been harmed by the negligent or willful acts or omissions of others in cases involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice and wrongful death. Ms. Jacobs has obtained numerous settlements in excess of $1 million for her clients and has also received jury and court verdicts awarding substantial sums.
A 1980 graduate of Smith College with a Bachelor of Arts, Ms. Jacobs went on to attend Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 1983. Upon graduation from law school, she was outside counsel for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company before becoming staff counsel for two other major insurance companies, giving her a background that made her want to pursue personal injury litigation when she opened her own practice in 1992. Admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York, Ms. Jacobs is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the District of Connecticut, and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
A member of several professional organizations, including the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice, Ms. Jacobs is active in her community as well. A longtime member of the Fairfield Holocaust Commemoration Committee, she served on the board of directors of the Jewish Center for Community Services of Eastern Fairfield County from 1993 to 2004 and has volunteered her services at several area public schools.
