Aliette Hernandez Carolan practices exclusively in the areas of reproductive and complex marital and family law in Miami, Florida. Her firm, The Law Offices of Aliette H. Carolan, PA, focuses on mediating and litigating divorce, paternity, custody disputes, post judgment matters as well as assisting clients throughout the Miami-Dade area who wish to build their families through such means as egg donation, sperm donation, embryo donation, gestational surrogacy, traditional surrogacy and all forms of adoption. She also advises clinics that provide reproductive services.
Certified as a family law mediator by the Florida Supreme Court since 2009, Ms. Carolan has successfully resolved many family and marital disputes outside of court. She has also helped to develop courses for the Alternative Dispute Resolution section of World Education University's Legal Studies program. As a member of the Hague Convention Attorney Network administered by the U.S. Department of State, Ms. Carolan also helps families who require assistance in matters involving international child abduction.
After graduating from the University of Miami in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in communication, Ms. Carolan earned her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center in 2003. Fluent in English and Spanish, she is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Ms. Carolan is active in a variety of professional and community organizations. She sits on the board of directors of Beaux Arts, Lowe Art Museum of the University of Miami. She spent 5 years on the board of directors for the non profit organization, KidSide, Inc., and is a member of the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar, the Family Law and Reproductive Law sections of the American Bar Association, the Young Collectors Council of the Perez Art Museum Miami and RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association. Ms. Carolan also frequently shares her insight into family law matters through appearances on news programs and in publications.
