An attorney with Joffe & Joffe, LLC, Edward M. Joffe offers legal services to clients throughout the state of Florida. He focuses his practice on international law, alternative dispute resolution, hospitality, business and finance.
After graduating with honors from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor in Business Administration, Mr. Joffe chose to pursue a career in law. He went to New York University School of Law and earned a Juris Doctor degree. Mr. Joffe is working on a Master of Science in hospitality management at Florida International University Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
Over the years, Mr. Joffe has assisted many corporate clients with their legal matters. He successfully negotiated a settlement with an Alaska city that was trying to establish a tax on duty free stores; he convinced the state of Florida that pharmaceutical companies in the Port Everglades foreign trade zone were under federal preemption and therefore, were not under state regulations; and he prevailed at trial in a customs duty classification case involving Levi Strauss & Co. Mr. Joffe is certified by The Florida Bar in international law and he holds the highest rating possible of AV Preeminent* from Martindale Hubbell for his superior legal skills and adherence to ethics.
In addition to his representation of clients, Mr. Joffe has made several presentations on intellectual property, personal jurisdiction and the appropriateness of anti-suit injunctions and international commercial law. He served The Florida Bar as an editor for its publication and as a chair on its international law section. Mr. Joffe is currently a chair on the International Law Certification Committee.
