Attorney Melanie E. Damian is the senior partner at the Miami law firm of Damian & Valori LLP. At the firm, Ms. Damian represents both individuals and privately and publicly held corporations from throughout South Florida in business and securities litigation. In addition, she also represents individuals who have suffered rights violations in employment law-related matters, developers in real estate and brokerage disputes, and law firms in matters related to legal malpractice.
Ms. Damian began her legal career in 1996 after earning her law degree from University of Miami School of Law and her admission to The Florida Bar. The U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court have all also approved her to practice law in their courtrooms.
Attorney Damian has seen countless cases to successful conclusions, which has resulted in her receiving a number of honors and awards. She has received an AV Preeminent* peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and she has a "Good" rating from Avvo. In addition, Florida Trend magazine has listed her among the state's Legal Elite since 2004, and the South Florida Legal Guide has included her in its publication for the past 11 years. Thanks to her extensive volunteer work, she also received the President's Pro Bono Award from The Florida Bar.
In addition to Ms. Damian's work in the courtroom, she is also an active member of the legal community and her local community. She served as chair of the Court Practice Committee of The Florida Bar, and she is a past president of the Women's Chamber of Commerce of Miami-Dade County. Ms. Damian is both founder and a board member of Educate Tomorrow, which seeks to educate the disadvantaged in South Florida.
