As the managing partner of The Umansky Law Firm, William D. Umansky represents the rights of people in Central Florida. He focuses his practice on personal injury and criminal defense. Mr. Umansky handles cases involving the following: slip-and-fall, dog bite, wrongful death, product liability, automobile accidents, nursing home abuse and neglect, DUI/DWI, sex crimes, juvenile offenses, drug crimes, theft and fraud, burglary, assault, child abuse and traffic violations.
In 1988, Mr. Umansky graduated cum laude from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. He then attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law. As a law student, he earned the highest grade in his negotiations and dispute settlement class; was honored by the school with a certificate of recognition for outstanding contribution; and was a trial team member. Mr. Umansky received his Juris Doctor in 1992.
For over 20 years, Mr. Umansky has protected the rights of people. He believes that people are entitled to a second chance, whether they are a victim of circumstances or have simply made bad choices in their life, and works hard to give them that opportunity. A former prosecutor, Mr. Umansky has an inside understanding of how criminal investigations are conducted and uses this knowledge to find solutions that meet his clients’ needs. Orlando Life magazine named him a top criminal lawyer, and he has been cited or featured in several mainstream news sources, including USA Today, NBC and Newsweek.
Mr. Umansky is an accomplished author and public speaker with memberships in several legal organizations.
