Attorney Jeanne T. Tate is managing partner at Jeanne T. Tate, PA, with offices in Tampa, Orlando and Naples, Florida, where she focuses her practice on the family law issues involved with adoption. Board certified in adoption law by The Florida Bar, she represents families seeking to adopt a child in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Bradenton, Brandon, Clearwater, Fort Myers, Naples, Sarasota, Hillsborough County, Pinellas County and Florida statewide.
After obtaining a journalism degree from the University of Florida, Ms. Tate earned her law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. She has been licensed to practice law in Florida state courts since 1982. She also has experience with interstate compact adoptions.
Recognized for her leadership in the field of adoption law, Ms. Tate has worked with the Florida state legislature on adoption issues and has appeared on both local and national television speaking on the subject of adoption.
Ms. Tate is a member of professional organizations including the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Hillsborough County Association for Women Lawyers, The Florida Bar, the Florida Association for Women Lawyers and the Bay Area Volunteer Lawyers Program. She is also a member of the Florida Adoption Council and the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys. Ms. Tate has also taught adoption law and procedure at the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Her outstanding work on behalf of birth parents and adoptive families has earned Ms. Tate numerous honors, including a lifetime achievement award from the Florida Adoption Council. She is consistently listed on several prestigious lists of top attorneys, and the peer-review service Martindale-Hubbell gave her its highest rating, AV Preeminent.*
Ms. Tate owns the adoption agency Heart of Adoptions, Inc., and founded the nonprofit child placement agency Heart of Adoptions Alliance, Inc.
