Amanda A. Farahany is the managing partner at Barrett & Farahany in Atlanta, Georgia, where she concentrates her practice on employment law. She represents individuals in cases involving discrimination on the basis of age, disability, pregnancy, race, religion and sex, as well as issues related to executive compensation, the Family Medical Leave Act, retaliation, sexual harassment and wrongful termination. Ms. Farahany represents clients in the Atlanta metropolitan area and Georgia statewide.
Ms. Farahany is actively involved in professional and community organizations. She is currently the chair of the Atlanta Bar Labor & Employment section, and past President of the National Employment Lawyers Association-GA, the American Association for Justice Wage & Hour Group. She has also held leadership roles with organizations including the Atlanta Council of Younger Lawyers, the National Crime Victim Bar Association and the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. Throughout her career, Ms. Farahany has also been active in community organizations related to women's rights and domestic violence.
Ms. Farahany enjoys sharing her legal knowledge and experience through speaking, publishing and teaching on civil justice topics. She has been featured in a variety of publications and has also appeared on Atlanta television programs.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Farahany has received a number of honors and recognition for her contributions to the legal profession. She is rated AV Preeminent* by the peer review service Martindale-Hubbell, its highest possible rating. She is a fellow in the Lawyer's Foundation of Georgia, Inc. and the National Trial Advocacy College, organizations which distinguish lawyers who have made significant contributions to the legal profession and their local communities.
