Attorney Profile

Attorney James J. Long is a partner at the well-known Atlanta law firm of Long & Holder, LLP. Since co-founding the firm in 1986, he has focused exclusively on protecting the rights of injured workers from Georgia's Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb and Gwinnett counties. As one of the state's most experienced workers' compensation attorneys, it is no surprise that so many people in the region turn to him for help in the aftermath of workplace accidents.

Mr. Long began his legal career in 1977 after earning his law degree from University of Florida Levin College of Law and his admission to the State Bar of Georgia. Since he received his approval to practice in Georgia's courtrooms, attorney Long has focused on providing guidance, representation and support to the residents of the state.

Over the course of Mr. Long's nearly 40-year legal career, he has earned countless honors and awards. He has a "Superb" rating from Avvo, and he has received an AV Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell. In addition, he is a fellow of The College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers, which is an honor reserved for highly-respected attorneys who have focused on workers' compensation for a minimum of 20 years.

In addition, Mr. Long is a regular guest speaker, an author of numerous articles on legal topics and a long-time volunteer.
