With over four decades of intense litigation experience, John's broad experience in the area of domestic relations law makes him one of the most successful Family Law Attorneys in Central Georgia. By focusing his primary practice on military and federal civil service divorce issues, he built a solid reputation with clients and other attorneys as the person to go to with a complex federal retirement question or high conflict litigation in divorce cases.  He is available to serve as lead counsel for cases in the immediate Central Georgia area, and will serve in Georgia and nationally as a consulting attorney and expert witness in federal retirement matters.

A 1971 magna cum laude graduate from Auburn University in Business and Economics and a Distinguished Military Graduate from Air Force R.O.T.C, John immediately pursued his law degree at the University of Georgia School of Law graduating in 1974 and entered the Georgia Bar the same year. He served as an Air Force Staff Judge Advocate (J.A.G.) for the next 22 intense but exciting years graduating from all of the Air Force Professional Officer Development programs including the distinguished Air War College.  After entering private practice in 1996, became a Registered with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Admitted to practice in all state and federal courts of Georgia and Florida, John also is licensed to practice before numerous other federal courts including the Eleventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. In addition to his broad experience in Domestic Relations litigation, Mr. Camp is a registered mediator and arbitrator with the Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution.

John is recognized for his deep legal knowledge, skill and experience in the legal realm. He holds the rating of AV Preeminent*, the highest possible rating, from the attorney peer review organization Martindale-Hubbell; was twice recognized for his distinguished service by the Board of Governors State Bar of Georgia, and is decorated with many medals and honors for his distinguished service in the military.

John is active in pro bono activities, such as serving in the State Bar of Georgia Military and Veterans Legal Assistance Program and participating in the Georgia Legal Services Program. He also maintains active membership in professional organizations including the Macon Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, and The William A. Bootle American Inn of Court.
