Jury Awards $4.3 million in Wrongful Death/Medical Malpractice - In September 2014, David Rapoport of counsel at Katz Friedman, obtained the largest jury verdict in DeKalb County when the jury awarded $4.3 million dollars in a wrongful death/medical malpractice case. Katz Friedman and Rapoport represented the victim's two children in this case. Previously, the largest wrongful death award in DeKalb County was $2.75 million awarded in 2008.

$1,800,000.00 - A driver ran a red light causing a T-bone collision that resulted in the need for two neck surgeries.

$1,750,000.00 - Katz Friedman obtained a $1,750,000.00 settlement for a bricklayer injured in a construction accident and an additional $587,864.00 in the workers' compensation case.

$1,550,000.00 - Rear-end collision due to a car sliding out of control on a snow covered road that aggravated a pre-existing spine injury requiring the replacement of surgical hardware.

$1,050,000.00 - A tractor-trailer smashed into another tractor-trailer that was sitting on the shoulder of the highway due to engine problems. Our client underwent extensive medical treatment.

$1,000,000.00 - A front-end collision caused by a drunk driver smashing into a car carrying a family. Our client had two low back surgeries.

$850,000.00 - Rear-end collision where a tractor-trailer collided with another tractor-trailer during morning rush hour on I-294 resulting in an aggravation of a spine condition.

$850,000.00 - A truck driver collided with another truck driver on I294.

$775,000.00 - A truck driver fell asleep at the wheel, ran another truck off the road, and caused a violent rollover crash resulting in a spine injury.

$750,000.00 - Rear-end collision where a truck driver who was going too fast for conditions on an icy parking lot, hit our client, which resulted in neck surgery.

$750,000.00 - A driver failed to stop at a stop sign and struck our client's car resulting in back surgery.
