As an attorney with Latherow Law Office, Bridget Duignan is committed to helping people get the compensation they deserve after being hurt by corporations or individuals. She serves clients in Chicago, Illinois, with a wide variety of personal injury issues. She has considerable experience in matters such as medical malpractice, construction accidents, food poisoning, elevator accidents and airplane accidents, and handles a full range of automobile accident cases, including car, truck, bus, motorcycle and pedestrian accidents. Ms. Duignan also has the compassion and sensitivity required to handle difficult sexual abuse cases that involve clergy and school employees.
After graduating from Illinois State University, where she majored in political science, Ms. Duignan received her Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School. Admitted since 1994 to practice law in Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, she gained experience serving as assistant counsel to the speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives and as the parliamentarian to the state government and insurance committees. Her experience as a defense attorney in workers' compensation and employment law gave her valuable insight into how to best represent individuals against big companies.
Ms. Duignan has lectured in trial techniques and medical records law for the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and Lorman Education Services. She also writes a monthly column for the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. She is an active member of several bars and associations, including the Women's Bar Association of Illinois and the American Association for Justice. She serves as co-chair of the membership committee for the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and is co-chair and legislative liaison for the Chicago Bar Association' tort litigation committee.
