The president of the Chicago-based law firm Huang & Hu PC, in Illinois, John Z. Huang is a senior attorney with more than three decades of experience. Basing his practice in and around Chicago, he has experience with a variety of practice areas, including corporate and international business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, real estate law, immigration law and labor law. He is licensed to practice in both New York and Illinois and has been admitted to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois.
An erudite scholar, Mr. Huang attended Yale University and completed his master’s degree and J.S.D. in 1986 and 1989 respectively. He also holds a Juris Doctor degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law and another master’s degree from Wuhan University. He soon started private practice and founded the firm John Z. Huang & Associates in 1994.
Mr. Huang’s clientele includes high-profile multinational companies, manufacturers and medical equipment companies along with state-owned enterprises and private companies. Prior to starting private practice, he was an adjunct professor at the DePaul University School of Law and has served as an external examiner at The University of Hong Kong. He continues to serve as a guest lecturer at several international universities and imparts his knowledge to the students of law.
A fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, Mr. Huang is an advocate of the Order of Veritas. He is also a member of the Trial Law Institute and the Diversity Law Institute. Furthermore, he has authored several books such as the Cross Border Merger and Acquisition, the Overseas Investment and the Overseas Investment Immigration.
