Peter Lubin has extensive trial and appellate court experience in commercial and class-action lawsuits. He has been appointed lead plaintiff's counsel or acted as defense counsel on numerous "bet the company" class-action lawsuits with nationwide impact. He has represented large and small corporate clients in many different types of complicated business disputes including trying estate and breach of fiduciary duty claims involving tens of millions of dollars, copyright software disputes for large corporate clients, and partnership and shareholder disputes for closely held businesses. He has sucessfully prosecuted or defended non-compete agreement and trade secret theft claims as well as franchisor vs. franchisee lawsuits. Peter graduated from from Dartmouth College in 1980 earning an AB. He obtained his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 1983. For over 15 years Peter has taught trial adovacy to law students at the University of Chicago Law School's Mandel Legal Aid Clinic. The then Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit chose Peter to be a founding member of the Markey-Wigmore Inns of Court. Peter and his partner Vincent DiTommaso have received commendations from the DuPage Legal Assistance Foundation for obtaining large charitable cy pres awards from certain class actions. In 2007, Peter became a member of the Visiting Committee at the University of Chicago Law School.
