Michele L. Jackson is one of the founders of Harden Jackson, LLC, in Carmel, Indiana. She concentrates her practice on adoption, assisted reproduction and international family law, providing dedicated representation to clients in the Indianapolis metropolitan area and throughout Indiana who want to build their families in various ways, whether through international adoption, surrogacy, egg or sperm donation or other forms of assisted reproductive technology. Ms. Jackson's clients include expectant mothers, donors, gestational surrogates and adoptive parents.
In 1997, Ms. Jackson received a bachelor's degree with honors from Anderson University. She then went on to attend the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, earning her J.D. in 2000. While in law school, Ms. Jackson served as president of the International Law Society and also participated in the Program in International Human Rights Law.
Ms. Jackson is admitted to practice in Indiana and is an active member of the American and Indianapolis bar associations. She has taught classes on international and family law as an adjunct law professor at her law school alma mater and often speaks at regional and national seminars, conferences and continuing legal education programs on topics related to her areas of practice. Ms. Jackson has also published numerous articles on these subjects and has won several honors, including the Angels in Adoption award from the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute.
Active in her community, Ms. Jackson contributes her time and insight to several nonprofit organizations and pro bono projects. Among other efforts, she is the founder of the Global Orphan Foundation, a nonprofit devoted to providing financial and other assistance to foster children and orphans in Indiana and around the world as well as to families who wish to adopt internationally.
Ms. Jackson has received numerous awards including the 40 Under 40 Award from the Indiana Business Journal 2013, Spirit Award for Entreprenurship from the Madam Walker Foundation 2014 , Junior Achievement Best and Brightest Finalist 2013 and 2014 and Rising SuperLawyer for five consecutive years. She is also on the board of Trustees for Anderson University and Chairman of the Board for MLJ Adoptions an international adoption agency with Federal Hague and state licensing. She currently serves as one of 9 Committee Members statewide for Indiana's Committee on Adoption.
