Michele L. Jackson is one of the founders of Harden Jackson, LLC, in Carmel, Indiana. She concentrates her practice on adoption, assisted reproduction and international family law, providing dedicated representation to clients in the Indianapolis metropolitan area and throughout Indiana who want to build their families in various ways, whether through international adoption, surrogacy, egg or sperm donation or other forms of assisted reproductive technology. Ms. Jackson's clients include expectant mothers, donors, gestational surrogates and adoptive parents.

In 1997, Ms. Jackson received a bachelor's degree with honors from Anderson University. She then went on to attend the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, earning her J.D. in 2000. While in law school, Ms. Jackson served as president of the International Law Society and also participated in the Program in International Human Rights Law.

Ms. Jackson is admitted to practice in Indiana and is an active member of the American and Indianapolis bar associations. She has taught classes on international and family law as an adjunct law professor at her law school alma mater and often speaks at regional and national seminars, conferences and continuing legal education programs on topics related to her areas of practice. Ms. Jackson has also published numerous articles on these subjects and has won several honors, including the Angels in Adoption award from the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute.

Active in her community, Ms. Jackson contributes her time and insight to several nonprofit organizations and pro bono projects. Among other efforts, she is the founder of the Global Orphan Foundation, a nonprofit devoted to providing financial and other assistance to foster children and orphans in Indiana and around the world as well as to families who wish to adopt internationally.

Ms. Jackson has received numerous awards including the 40 Under 40 Award from the Indiana Business Journal 2013, Spirit Award for Entreprenurship from the Madam Walker Foundation 2014 , Junior Achievement Best and Brightest Finalist 2013 and 2014 and Rising SuperLawyer for five consecutive years.  She is also on the board of Trustees for Anderson University and Chairman of the Board for MLJ Adoptions an international adoption agency with Federal Hague and state licensing.  She currently serves as one of 9 Committee Members statewide for Indiana's Committee on Adoption.

  • Founder and Volunteer for The Global Orphan Foundation - Mission to help foster and orphan children in Indiana and around the world.  Michele not only spends time helping with the administration/organizational/fundraising side of the organization but has hands-on experience by traveling to orphanages throughout the world to provide support and assistance.  She often distributes clothing, medical supplies and school supplies to the orphanages she visits.  Michele organizes approximately 4 trips a year to provide services to orphans in 3rd world countries.  In the past two years she has visited orphanages in Ukraine (2 times), Honduras (Medical service trip), Nicaragua (2 times), Vietnam, and Guatemala.  This year she plans to travel to the Congo to start orphanage support work in that country.  Michele's passion is helping the most vulnerable children in the world - the orphan. CASA Volunteer for Kid's Voice 2000-present Altrusa International - Professional Women's Service Organization 2000-present.  Altrusa's mission is contribute to their community in a positive way. They often focus on helping women that have been victims of domestic violence and reading/literacy programs. Children of Promise - Volunteer & Sponsor 2001 - present and Executive Board Member 2005 - present.  COP provides sponsorships to children in over 22 countries around the world.  These children qualify for the program due to their families being below the poverty levels established by the UN.  The sponsorships provide clothing, food, medical and school supplies to the children in need. Dove Harbour - Volunteer 2004-present - Battered women's shelter.  Michele helps with various needs of Dove Harbour and most specifically, assists with the fundraising auction each fall.  Michele runs the auction system and program at the fundraising event. Michele provides sponsorship for 4 families that are working as missionaries through various organizations (including Campus Crusade for Christ and Global Missions).
