Attorney Profile

Going through a divorce or child custody battle frequently creates two things: stress and uncertainty about the future. As owner of the Mitchell Law Group, Gloria Mitchell understands the sensitive nature of the family law cases she handles. She works with people in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the surrounding areas to achieve their goals for the case, whether that means going through mediation or going to trial.

This compassionate approach has enabled Ms. Mitchell to guide countless families through the legal system. Her steadfast advocacy and commitment to justice has resulted in a number of achievements, including holding the highest rating possible of AV Preeminent* from Martindale-Hubbell; getting selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America; and earning an Avvo "Superb" rating.

To provide the best possible representation to clients, Ms. Mitchell is involved with a number of legal organizations, including the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, the Hamilton County Bar Association and the National Association of Counsel for Children. A published author, Ms. Mitchell also shares her experience with others through various speaking engagements.

Outside her practice, Ms. Mitchell has a passion for helping people. She volunteers as a Guardian ad litem with organizations devoted to helping the homeless or victims of domestic abuse. Additionally, she is active in the Indianapolis Bar Foundation.

Ms. Mitchell earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Miami University in 1983. She then attended the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctor in 1988. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
