A Louisiana native, James P. Lambert primarily focuses his practice on personal injury matters at Jim Lambert Law Firm in Lafayette, Louisiana. In addition to a broad range of personal injury cases, including 18-wheeler and other motor vehicle accidents, offshore injuries, premises liability and wrongful death, he handles workers' compensation matters, Jones Act-related cases, business litigation and medical malpractice matters. With more than three decades of experience, an AV Preeminent* rating from Martindale-Hubbell and certification as a civil trial advocate by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification, he provides compassionate and informed representation to individuals and their families throughout southern Louisiana.
After graduating from Louisiana College, Mr. Lambert pursued his Juris Doctor at the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where he belonged to multiple honor societies and authored several pieces for the Louisiana Law Review. After graduating in 1976, he practiced in New Orleans before relocating to Lafayette. Admitted to practice in Louisiana, Mr. Lambert is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Lambert's professional affiliations stretch back decades and include memberships in the American Association for Justice, the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Louisiana Association for Justice, for which he served on the Board of Governors from 1993 to 1994 and 1996 to 2002. Outside his practice, he gives back to the Lafayette community through his involvement in the Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church and his work with both a prison ministry group and a nondenominational nonprofit that serves impoverished families in the area through various programs and outreach.
