Jennifer Fairfax is the founder of Family Formation Law Offices in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia. She is nationally recogizned in both fields of law and often lectures on best practices.
Ms. Fairfax pursued her undergraduate education at Liberty University, receiving her bachelor's degree in English and political science cum laude in 1993. She then went on to attend the University of Baltimore School of Law and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 1997. Ms. Fairfax was associated with several area law firms before founding Jennifer Fairfax, LLC, in 2010. Admitted to practice in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, she is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and the Supreme Court of the United States. Highly regarded by her fellow professionals, she has received an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo.
Ms. Fairfax is frequently asked to speak on adoption and related matters before groups of fellow attorneys, including the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Judicial Institute of Maryland and the Bar Association of Montgomery County. She has been a guest lecturer for students at her law school alma mater as well as the University of Maryland School of Law. The author of The Adoption Law Handbook, Ms. Fairfax has served in executive capacities for the American Academy of Assisted Reproductive Technology Attorneys and the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys. She is an active participant in several legal organizations, including the Montgomery and Frederick county bar associations, and she is a former member of the board of directors of the Center for Adoption Support and Education.
