As a partner at Fields, Dennis & Cooper LLP, Marc J. Cooper is committed to representing clients in Weston, Needham, Newton, Boston, Brookline and Wellesley, Massachusetts. He dedicates his practice to handling family law matters that involve the following: high-asset divorce, mediation, arbitration, litigation, support, complex property issues, child custody, parenting plans, paternity, valuations, forensic investigations, premarital agreements and post-judgment issues.
In 1979, Mr. Cooper earned a Bachelor of Arts from Muhlenberg College. He went on to receive a Juris Doctor in 1982 from the Suffolk University Law School.
For more than three decades, Mr. Cooper has been focused solely on helping families resolve matters such as divorce and asset division. Particularly sensitive to cases that involve children, he uses alternative dispute resolution to guide clients through their legal issues respectfully and efficiently. Mr. Cooper is certified by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers as a family law arbitrator and by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification as a family law advocate.
Taking a compassionate approach to every case, Mr. Cooper has established a reputation of success. He has been widely recognized for his professional expertise, both locally and nationally. He is a Family law Certified Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy which certifies only a total of 4% of attorneys across the country in each area of practice for which Certification is possible. He has been a Massachusetts Super Lawyer and a Top New England Attorney since 2005, which is an achievement granted to only the top 5% of family law attorneys in Massachusetts and New England. Marc is also a Founding Member in the American Association of Certified Financial Litigators, as well as a member of various other legal organizations.
Marc has been actively involved in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers at both the state and national level. He is a respected contributor to numerous continuing legal education programs, Marc guest lectures at law schools and has been appointed by Judges of the Probate & Family Court as a Master in pending divorce and modification actions. A prolific writer, he has written extensively about domestic relations practice in Massachusetts, equitable distribution of property across the country, and other Family Law issues.
