Attorney Chris M. Parfitt is a partner at the highly respected law firm of Deneweth, Dugan & Parfitt, P.C., where he serves clients from the Detroit metropolitan area, southeastern Michigan and throughout the entire Midwest. At the firm, Mr. Parfitt focuses his practice on employment law, which includes assisting businesses with the creation of employee handbooks, representing the interests of business clients in wrongful termination, wage-and-hour, harassment and discrimination claims, employee discipline, and assisting clients with compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Mr. Parfitt began his legal career in 1974 after earning his Juris Doctor from The University of Michigan Law School and his admission to the State Bar of Michigan. In 1988, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims also approved him to practice in its courtrooms. In the years that have passed since he began practicing law, Mr. Parfitt has earned a reputation in the legal community for providing outstanding services to his clients, as evidenced by his "Very Good" Avvo rating and his AV Preeminent* peer-rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
In addition to recognizing attorney Parfitt for his abilities both in the courtroom and at the negotiating table, the legal and business communities have also recognized his extensive legal knowledge. He is a regular lecturer on construction and employment law topics and a valued member of a number of legal associations, including the Oakland County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. In addition to being an association member, Mr. Parfitt has also been a member of the Fidelity and Surety Law committees of both associations since 1978.
