Mark V. Steffenson

A highly regarded civil trial lawyer, Mark V. Steffenson is a shareholder at Henningson & Snoxell, Ltd. He provides aggressive representation to clients throughout the greater Minneapolis metropolitan area from the firm’s office in Maple Grove, and he has been admitted to practice in Minnesota since 1986. Mr. Steffenson is additionally admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Mr. Steffenson represents businesses and nonprofit organizations in a variety of industry segments. He has handled litigation on their behalf involving several types of matters, and many of them involve employment law claims such as discrimination, sexual harassment, downsizing covered by the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1988, wage and hour disputes, ERISA, trade secret protection and misappropriation, and noncompete agreements.

Outside of the labor and employment area, Mr. Steffenson has worked on cases involving bad faith and other insurance coverage matters, will and trust contests and interpretation, retirement plan administration, consumer fraud, nursing home negligence, contract breaches, and disputes among shareholders or partners. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from St. Olaf College in 1982, Mr. Steffenson pursued his legal education at the University of Minnesota Law School, and he graduated with his Juris Doctor in 1986. His professional affiliations include the Minnesota Association for Justice, and he has served as the mayor of Maple Grove and has been involved in many other civic activities.
