Mr. Zegas received his Juris Doctor with honors from Rutgers Law School in 1981, and the New Jersey State Bar Association admitted him to practice that same year. Additionally, Mr. Zegas is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. District Courts for the Western and Southern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Nationally recognized for his extensive knowledge and experience in criminal law, several publications have cited Mr. Zegas and he has appeared on numerous television and radio programs throughout the country. He has also published numerous articles and delivered lectures on criminal, civil and appellate trial practices. Moreover, he has served as adjunct professor for Rutgers Law School and regularly conducts lectures for The Institute of Continuing Legal Education.

Throughout his 35-year career, Mr. Zegas has served as lead or co-counsel on several high-profile and landmark cases, including one that set new standards for law enforcement to follow in cases involving sexual assault. Furthermore, he secured acquittals in federal court for two well-known political figures, one of whom was the former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi.
