Jean R. Campbell is a partner at Kiernan & Campbell, located in West Caldwell, New Jersey. With more than 30 years of legal experience, she focuses her practice exclusively on family law, providing representation to clients throughout Essex County in matters involving high-asset divorce, child custody and support, property division, domestic violence restraining orders, prenuptial agreements and post-judgment order modifications. While many of her cases proceed to trial, she also provides advice and counsel to clients who are going through mediation.
As an undergraduate, Ms. Campbell attended Wellesley College in Massachusetts, graduating with her Bachelor of Arts in 1973. She then enrolled at Dartmouth College and obtained her teaching certification for the state of New Hampshire in 1974. After deciding to pursue her legal education, Ms. Campbell went on to attend Rutgers School of Law — Newark and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 1981.
A trained mediator since 1996, Ms. Campbell has also been certified as a matrimonial law attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, Ms. Campbell is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the District of New Jersey and the Southern District of New York. She is an active member of the Middlesex County, Essex County and New Jersey State bar associations, and she is a former co-chair of the executive committee of the Family Law Committee of the Essex County Bar Association. Ms. Campbell has delivered several continuing legal education presentations and is a former president of the Achieve Foundation of South Orange and Maplewood.
