Michael G. Kane is a partner at the law firm of Cashdan & Kane, PLLC, providing legal counsel and representation on employment matters. His clients consist of federal employees, blue collar workers, doctors, CEOs and other corporate executives, brokers and state workers throughout New Jersey, including Westfield. He is admitted to practice before all state courts; several district courts, including the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey; the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit; and the United States Supreme Court.
As an employment law attorney, Mr. Kane helps people who are the victims of discrimination, sexual harassment or wrongful termination. Clients’ interests are at the forefront of every action he takes. He has a thorough knowledge of the law, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. Additionally, Mr. Kane reviews, drafts and negotiates employment contracts, including severance and separation agreements.
Throughout his career, Mr. Kane has achieved several settlements and verdicts on behalf of those he represents. His successes include obtaining a verdict of $1.5 million for a victim of age discrimination and a settlement of over $127,000 in a case involving the New Jersey Conscientious Employee Protection Act. A native of New Jersey, Mr. Kane graduated from New York University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts. He then earned a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law. Mr. Kane also serves as co-chair of the Chet Levitt Fund for Employment Law.
