Born and raised in Westchester County, Joan Iacono represents clients in all aspects of family law, including divorce, custody and visitation, and child and spousal support. The founder of Iacono Law in Bronxville, New York, she endeavors to assist her area clients in reaching amicable agreements through negotiation before resorting to litigation. She also handles residential and commercial real estate matters, as well as estate planning for her clients.
As an undergraduate, Ms. Iacono attended Syracuse University and received a Bachelor of Arts in policy studies in 1979. She then pursued her legal education at New York Law School, where she was a member of the school's Moot Court Executive Board and an editor on the New York Law School Law Review before being awarded her Juris Doctor in 1982.
Admitted to practice before all New York state courts, Ms. Iacono is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Iacono served as principal court attorney for the Chief Judge of the Bronx County Family Court, a position she held between 1988 and 1992. She also is an appellate and trial advocacy team coach at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University.
Ms. Iacono has held several positions with the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence/Westchester, Inc., including serving as a member of the group's board of directors for five years. The acting treasurer of the Columbian Lawyers Association of Westchester County, she is an active member of the New York State Bar Association, the Putnam County Bar Association and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
