Joseph M. Heppt is the founder of the Heppt Law Group, PLLC, located in New York, New York. He handles a wide range of business litigation, arbitration and other matters for clients throughout the state, including issues involving breach of contract, partnership disputes, trademark and copyright infringement, securities arbitration, executive compensation and severance, commercial arbitration, noncompete agreements and regulatory investigations.
Mr. Heppt earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from St. John's University in 1977. He subsequently attended Brooklyn Law School and was awarded his Juris Doctor magna cum laude in 1986. While in law school, he was a member and executive notes editor of the Brooklyn Law Review. Prior to founding his own firm, Mr. Heppt was an associate at two well-known New York City law firms and then served as assistant general counsel at Ernst & Young LLP from 1994 to 1999. Admitted to practice in New York, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York.
In order to keep abreast of current developments in his fields of practice, Mr. Heppt is an active participant in several professional organizations, including the New York City Bar Association. He is also a past member of the Litigation Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York as well as a past member of that organization's Professional Discipline Committee and Professional Responsibility Committee.
