As a partner at Younkins & Schecter LLP, Kathy A. Younkins is dedicated to serving clients in New York City and the surrounding area. She focuses her practice on commercial real estate, generally handling cases that involve complex real estate transactions, commercial leasing, financing and construction, development, and nonperforming loan restructuring.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from Queens College, The City University of New York , Ms. Younkins went on to attend the William & Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law . From there, she earned a Juris Doctor in 1984.
Ms. Younkins began her career handling real estate development cases for another area law firm. She then went on to serve as vice president and corporate counsel for First Winthrop Corp., where she oversaw the organization's real estate portfolio and formed its in-house real estate legal practice group. In these roles, Ms. Younkins gained valuable experience upon which she draws to negotiate the best possible solutions for her clients.
Ms. Younkins offers her clients big-firm capabilities, together with small-firm attention and support. It is her goal to provide responsive, effective and practical representation that her clients can count on. With each case she handles, Ms. Younkins listens to her clients to understand and anticipate their needs. She gives her clients results-oriented advice, so they can make informed business decisions that will help them achieve their short- and long-term goals.
Staying active in the legal community is a priority for Ms. Younkins. She is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and she has served as a guest lecturer on a number of real estate topics.
