Marc J. Bern is a founding and senior partner in the complex litigation firm Napoli Bern Ripka Shkolnik LLP in New York City. Mr. Bern focuses his practice on representing New York City-area plaintiffs in personal injury cases, particularly products liability and medical malpractice, in addition to mass torts and environmental litigation. With more than 35 of years experience as a litigator and a record of hundreds of successful cases resulting in settlements in excess of $1 million, he has led over 100 cases to a jury verdict.
Mr. Bern is widely recognized for his experience and skill as a litigator. He is a member of the prestigious Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and he has been featured in Who's Who in American Law. For more than two decades, he has held Martindale-Hubbell's AV-Preeminent* rating in recognition of his exemplary ethical standards and legal ability. In 2007, Lawdragon ranked him among the top 500 plaintiff's lawyers in the nation.
Mr. Bern graduated from the Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Prior to attending law school, he graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He is admitted to practice before state courts in New York and Wisconsin and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
Mr. Bern has spoken to a wide variety of organizations, including the Wisconsin Association for Justice, the New York County Lawyers Association, the Practicing Law Institute, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America on several environmental law topics.
