Richard A. Gurfein has been passionate about protecting the rights of injured clients for more than 40 years. After receiving his Bachelor of Engineering in electrical engineering from NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, Mr. Gurfein earned his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School. He is admitted to practice law in New York. Prior to beginning his law career, Mr. Gurfein was an electrical engineer and taught high school math — experiences that have helped him effectively present cases to juries and judges. He continues to teach by lecturing on various topics at continuing legal education programs.
Mr. Gurfein's achievements have earned him the recognition and respect of his peers. Along with being listed in "Who's Who in American Law," "Who's Who in the World" and other publications from Marquis Who's Who LLC, Mr. Gurfein frequently appears on television and radio programs to speak about high-profile cases he has handled. Mr. Gurfein served as president of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and chaired the Committee on Medical Jurisprudence for the Nassau County Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Association for Justice and serves as president of Trial1.com, an internet service company.
