Profile

A prominent New York trial attorney, Anthony Pirrotti Jr., Esq., maintains a 95 percent success rate in handling personal injury, medical malpractice and defective products claims. In addition to his selection to the New York Metro’s Super Lawyers list in 2007 and in each year since 2010, he has been named four times to the list’s Top 25 Lawyers in the Westchester Area.   • $675,000: Medical Malpractice, laceration of the bladder, resulting in additional surgeries to repair the defect and a period of time of incontinence , 2015

  • Improper neck surgery and broken screws not fixed in Westchester County: Neurosurgeon performed surgical disc removal surgery, fused two vertebra, and used screws to hold them in place. At the deposition, Anthony had the Doctor admit that there was micro motion in the screws, and the screws later broke as a result, causing the screws to be replaced: $350,000
  • Failure to Diagnose Bowel Perforation in Orange County: 72 year old woman, with many pre-existing health conditions, went to a Hospital as a result of being given too much Lasix, causing dehydration and life threatening low potassium. 10 hours of pain and cardiac arrest: $350,000
  • Failure to diagnose cancer in Ulster County. Doctor knew a 66 year old patient had a polyp and properly went in to biopsy it, but the procedure failed and the doctor just decided to "monitor" the polyp for 2 years instead of trying to biopsy or remove the polyp as initially intended: $550,000
  • Young woman driving on Parkway hit by car making a left hand turn, without yielding, causing comminuted fractures, and many "open reduction" operations to repair the fractures: $750,000
  • FBI Agent in a cross walk and hit by a car. At trial in 2006, a jury awarded the Agent a paultry $42,000. We appealed the case, fronted all of the expenses and had the verdict overturned due to the defense attorney's improper conduct during trial. At the second trial we obtained more than 10 times what the first jury awarded: $450,000

  • Voted President of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, Westchester Region, in May 2011, and May 2012, and voted member of the Board of directors in June 2011. On April 22, 2009 our case of Mitaro vs Medtronic made the front page of the New York Law Journal Decisions of the Day, as the Administrative Judge determined that the NYS Tort claims by Mrs Mitaro were exempt from the Federal Premption Clause as set forth in the US Supreme Court Case of Reigel. Thousand of Federal Court cases against Medtronic Inc for a faulty defibrilator lead wire were dismissed, but our case was plead differntly than the Federal cases and survived the Motion to dismiss. It is our understanding that our case is the first case for a Plaintiff to proceed to discovery and depositions in the United States, concerning the Medtronic faulty lead wire., 2009
  • Organized 225 Trial Lawyers on September 8, 2009 to oppose changes for the entire trial bar of the 9th Judicial District, which caused a reversal of most of those changes on Janurary 4, 2010 as recognized by the NYS Trial Lawyers Association in a e-mail blast to the bar on January 7, 2010, as follows: "Finally, in recently expressing thanks to NYSTLA’s President, Richard Binko, Chair of the Committee on the Judiciary, Lenore Kramer, and the members of our specially-formed Westchester Committee for their efforts, we were remiss in inadvertently omitting our particular appreciation and respect for the special contributions by Westchester trial lawyer Anthony Pirrotti, Jr. It was Anthony who was significantly responsible for bringing the Bar’s concerns to NYSTLA’s attention at the outset and who greatly contributed to organizing the initial open meeting with the Administration attended by so many of you.
