Garber works on behalf of ordinary consumers in lawsuits that go up against rich and powerful corporations. His practice is centered in New York, including White Plains and Dutchess County, but he has also handled cases all over the country.
Mr. Garber focuses his practice on class actions, particularly cases involving employment law, consumer protection, consumer privacy, civil rights, and securities and investor fraud. He is admitted to practice in state courts in New York and Connecticut, as well as the U.S. district courts for the southern, western and eastern districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit.
Prior to joining together with several other attorneys to found Finkelstein, Blankinship, Frei-Pearson & Garber, LLP, Mr. Garber practiced law in two other law firms where he focused on class-action cases and complex commercial litigation, serving as class counsel in cases against some of the nation’s largest corporations. In one lawsuit against a utility company, he helped to recover a settlement of more than $11 million on behalf of more than 400,000 consumers in eight states.
A graduate of Cornell University, Mr. Garber earned his law degree at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University. While attending law school, he was an articles editor with the Cardozo Journal of International and Comparative Law.
