Philip J. Iovieno is an experienced and dedicated attorney with Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, an Albany, New York, law firm. He has been with the firm since 2000. Mr. Iovieno focuses his practice on antitrust issues and complicated commercial litigation, and he has successfully led jury trials and appeal efforts for plaintiffs and defendants throughout the country.
Mr. Iovieno's client list includes companies such as AT&T/SBC Communications, Philip Morris, Alcoa and more. He has defended companies against a variety of alleged violations, including the Sherman Act, the Robinson-Patman Act, price-fixing and antitrust issues. On the plaintiff side, he has represented a consortium of companies for damages caused by a price-fixing cartel in the TFT-LCD market, a number of states against the federal government's settlement of the Microsoft antitrust case and over 3,000 pharmacies in antitrust litigation against drug manufacturers. Mr. Iovieno also has significant experience with cases involving financial institutions, hedge funds and intellectual property disputes.
Mr. Iovieno graduated from Siena College magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in political science. He went on to graduate from the Albany Law School of Union University in 1992, where he was an articles editor for the Albany Law Review and a member of the Justinian Society, and he was also awarded the New York State Bar Association's Legal Ethics Award. He is admitted to practice law in New York and Connecticut as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
When not representing clients, Mr. Iovieno enjoys giving back to his community. Along with his brother, he runs a charitable foundation that provides economic assistance to children from low-income families who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses.
