Mr. Riotto first worked as an officer with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and then with the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision before obtaining his certification as a New York state police officer. He became a New York state trooper in 2000, amassing several years of experience investigating crimes before deciding to go to law school.

Mr. Riotto completed his Juris Doctor at the Albany Law School. Before deciding to go into criminal defense work, he worked for the criminal prosecutions bureau of the New York State Attorney General's Office and then for the Albany County District Attorney's Office, prosecuting cases in the office's major offenses bureau.
