Eric Nemecek is a Partner at the law firm of Friedman & Nemecek, L.L.C., which is located in Cleveland, Ohio. He has represented clients at all stages of criminal proceedings, including pretrial, trial and post-conviction litigation. He has handled an array of complex criminal, civil and white collar matters not only in State and federal courts throughout the United States, but also overseas. Furthermore, he has extensive experience individuals in cases involving "cyber crimes," including violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, child pornography laws, and numerous other technologically-based offenses. Mr. Nemecek has also represented professionals with respect to licensing and disciplinary issues before their respective State boards.
Mr. Nemecek has authored pertinent administrative, trial, and appellate arguments warranted by criminal allegations lodged against hisclients. He is a highly skilled researcher and has written legal briefs, memoranda and motions on various evidentiary and procedural trial issues. Furthermore, he has successfully litigated numerous appeals in both State and federal courts.
His professional career has also included involvement in local and national associations aimed at educating and improving the legal community as a whole. He is actively involved in the American Bar Association, servings as a co-chair of the Cybercrime Committee for the American Bar Association since 2011 and as a Delegate for the Young Lawyer's Division. He is also the past President of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association's Criminal Division. Mr. Nemecek has also contributed articles on criminal defense matters to several legal journals, and he is frequently asked to speak before groups of fellow professionals.
