Prior to joining The Skolnick Weiser Law Firm, LLC, Mr. Abbarno was a partner with a prominent multi-state law firm, where he practiced law for more than 20 years. In addition to his long career in Ohio, he has handled cases in several other states, including Indiana, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, California, West Virginia, Virginia and New York. Mr. Abbarno is also admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia.
His skill, dedication and hard work have earned Mr. Abbarno a number of honors and awards over the course of his career. The peer-review service Martindale-Hubbell gave him its highest rating, AV Preeminent,* and he has been named as a top attorney in transportation law by the publication “Best Lawyers in America.”**
Mr. Abbarno earned his law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University, where he graduated with honors. Prior to law school, he graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York.
Mr. Abbarno’s achievements in civil litigation have made him a highly sought-after speaker for classes and seminars throughout the country. Many of his lectures address legal issues related to the trucking industry, such as truck accident liability and the relationship between truck drivers and their employers.
In addition to his law practice, Mr. Abbarno has been involved in a number of professional organizations throughout his career. He has served as vice chair of the American Bar Association’s committee on commercial transportation litigation. He has also maintained membership in the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cleveland Association of Civil Trial Attorneys and the Ohio Association for Justice.
