Tim George is a founding partner at Purchase & George, P.C. where he practices in the areas of blue collar criminal defense, DUI, and plaintiff's personal injury. Since graduating from the Dickinson School of Law in 1992, he has developed a civil & criminal trial practice, having served as an assistant district attorney (1996-98), assistant public defender (2001) and a lawyer (judge advocate) in the U.S. Army (2004-15).
From January through December 2009, he was called to active duty and served as trial counsel for the 28th CAB, PAARNG in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He currently holds the rank of Major. After studying at the Judge Advocate General's Law Schoool & Legal Center in January 2010, Tim returned to full-time private practice in February 2010 and formed Purchase & George, P.C. with law partner, Eric Purchase, a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer from 2013-present.
Tim has written or co-written three consumer books on personal injury and DUI in Pennsylvania, served in leadership positions with the Erie County Bar Association and other organizations throughout the community, and frequently participates as a panelist in public forums on topics such as the Castle Doctrine, concealed carry licenses, and the rights and responsibilities of gun owners. In 2015, he was appointed to a Blue Ribbon Commission by the President of Edinboro University to develop tools and tactics to improve safety for students and members of the larger, surrounding community.
Tim has been married for 19 years to Kathleen Scibetta, also a lawyer. They have three young chidren.
