Scholarly Lectures and Writings:

  • I have been privileged to participate with five other lawyers selected by the Texas Association of School Boards to undertake the writing of a set of modifications to the American Institute of Architects construction contracts. This work has gone on for more than nine (9) years now, includes rewriting modifications each time the AIA forms are revised, and has involved some of the most experienced construction lawyers in Texas. The contract documents are being marketed to over a thousand school district by the Texas Association of School Boards. The Texas Association of School Boards has licensed these contract documents to the National School Board Associaiton for distribution to school districts nationwide. I have been advised that in the first year the contract documents were available they became the fastest selling documents available through the National School Board Association. ● Article, Navigating the Unchartered Waters of Procurement of Construction Contracts, Texas School Administrators' Legal Digest, published in the September, 2013 issue ● Article, Building a Better Contract, American School Board Journal, Volume 198, No. 10 (October, 2011) (one of a group of 6 attorneys who co-wrote article). ● Co-author of TASB School District Construction Contract Documents Modifying American Institute of Architects Contract Forms for Public Schools, published by Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) and National Schools Boards Association (NSBA) (2004 - present). ● Article, One Nation Under God: New Cases Involving Religion on Campus, Texas School Administrators' Legal Digest, published in the September, 2005 issue. ● Article, Guidelines for School Employees Concerning Religion on Campus, Texas School Administrators' Legal Digest, Vol. 17, No. 3 (March 2001). ● Article, Conducting an Effective On-Campus Investigation of Employee Wrongdoing, Texas School Administrators' Legal Digest, Vol. 9, No. 5 (May 1993).
