Brad Haywood began his legal career in 2003 after earning his law degree from the Columbia Law School and his admission to the Virginia State Bar. After law school, he went directly into criminal defense when he joined the Alexandria Public Defender's Office. He remained in that position, where he gained valuable experience, until he joined his current firm as a partner in 2012. Also in 2012, The District of Columbia Bar granted him admission, authorizing him to practice law in Washington, D.C.

Over the course of attorney Haywood's career, he has earned much recognition for his extensive knowledge of criminal law and dedication to protecting his clients during criminal proceedings. As a result, he has also earned the respect of the legal community, as evidenced by his regular role as a guest speaker and his past position as an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at the American University Washington College of Law.

In addition to those honors, he has earned a number of awards during his career. The National Trial Lawyers listed him among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in 2014, and he has a "Superb" rating from Avvo.

Brad is also an active member of the legal community and his local community on all levels. He remains committed to indigent defense and has participated as a member of a number of organizations such as Families & Allies of Virginia's Youth, a juvenile advocacy group, for which he served as a board member.
