Claire Cardwell has more than 30 years of experience in criminal law. She is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Cardwell was Richmond's Chief Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney for eight years. She has tried numerous high-profile cases throughout the Commonwealth in state and federal courts involving charges of fraud, murder, rape, terrorism, drug conspiracy, and RICO violations. Her career achievements have been recognized by the Richmond City Council, the Metropolitan Richmond Women's Bar Association, the Richmond Criminal Bar Association, the Richmond Bar Association, in profiles on WWBT Channel 12, and on the cover of Style magazine. Cardwell has been voted one of Richmond's top criminal lawyers by her peers. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Richmond School of Law, where she has taught advanced trial advocacy for more than 24 years.
