After earning a Bachelor of Arts from The Evergreen State College, Mr. Madrone went on to receive a Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law. While attending law school, Mr. Madrone provided defense services to clients in the Tulalip Tribal Court through the University of Washington School of Law’s Tribal Court Public Defense Clinic. Upon graduation, he was invited to join the Order of Barristers.

 

In his private practice, Mr. Madrone draws on the knowledge and experience he gained while serving as a clerk for a King County Superior Court judge and as a public defender in King County. He understands the lasting effects that a criminal charge can have on a person’s life. For that reason, Mr. Madrone takes a personalized approach with every case so that his clients receive the quality representation they deserve.

  • United States v. Groen: served as co-counsel defending a man accused of shining a spotlight at a U.S. Border Patrol helicopter in Lynden, Washington. He was indicted in United States Federal Court, Western District of Washington for interfering with the helicopter and incapacitating the pilot. After a heavily contested trial that included heavy media presence, the jury found our client not guilty of the more serious of the two charges., 2011
  • City of Ferndale, Washington v. [anonymous]: defended client at trial on one count of violation of a no-contact order. Verdict: not guilty., 2011
  • City of Bellingham v. [anonymous]: trial on one count of Disorderly Conduct. Verdict: not guilty., 2010
  • Rule 9 Verdicts. While still completing law school, I was granted a limited practice license (Rule 9) from Washington state. With that license, I worked as a public defender in King County where I tried three cases to verdict (DUI, Theft 3rd Degree, and 4th Degree Assault), all of which resulted in full acquittals for my clients., 2007
