Attorney Profile

Alex is a non-conventional business lawyer who specializes in emergent tactics and litigation techniques.  He is not the kind of lawyer who merely throws paper at the problem—before starting or responding to a lawsuit he creates a profile of the parties and crafts a pre-filing strategy based on client objectives and case strengths while obtaining insurance coverage whenever possible.  Whether the case is a five or nine figure dispute—Alex is above all practical and a “straight shooter”—a trait he learned running his family’s apple farm.

Alex’s reputation and trial success has earned him an appointment as Special Counsel to a United States Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee pursuing personal liability against corporate wrongdoers.  His practice emphasizes pre and post-judgment remedies (injunctions, attachments, garnishments) in the commercial, real property, and construction litigation context, and also piercing corporate veils to seize the assets of individual officers, directors and shareholders.  Alex previously served as Special Deputy for the King County Prosecutor, and today he applies to his practice the same law enforcement asset location techniques he learned from Seattle homicide detectives.

As a peer-rated "Superb" lawyer, Alex continues to lecture nationally to thousands of lawyers and judges on a variety of legal issues, including alter ego/veil piercing, corporate officer disregard, and fraudulent conveyances.  Alex has appeared on MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CNN, HLN, CNBC, Good Morning America, King 5 News, KOMO News, and other programs.

Alex’s varied professional toolbox includes: The Apprentice (final four on Donald Trump's TV show), farmer (apple), CEO (media), COO (internet / real estate), prosecutor (King Co.), archeologist (Israel), and world-ranked skier (alpine).
