Lee Tucker has almost two decades of experience in personal injury cases involving primarily medical malpractice, automobile negligence, wrongful death, insurance bad faith, police brutality, premises liability, and dog bite cases. He also will take on criminal defense cases since he was a former member of the King County Prosecuting Attorneys Office and also worked as a law clerk at the Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney's Office in Cincinnati, Ohio during law school. As founder of The Tucker Law Firm, PLLC, he works with clients all across Washington State and in Oregon, California, Kentucky, and New York.
Much of Lee's academic career has shaped his professional career. In 1992, Lee earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Swarthmore College. He has studied abroad in countries including Italy and Israel. He was a member of the 1990 NCAA Division III National Champtionship Tennis Team at Swarthmore College, a 3 time NCAA Division III All-American, and the 1991 Rolex Intercollegiate Division III National Singles Champion. He played tennis professionally in both France and Germany. He also received a Juris Doctor in 1998 from the University of Dayton School of Law.
Recently, the Tucker Law Firm has recovered significantly for victims of medical malpractice. In 2016, The Tucker Law Firm represented a surviving spouse, who lost her 49 year old husband to the negligence of a local WA hospital where a feeding tube was misplaced in her husband's left lung. Her husband was tube fed into his left lung for several hours before the hospital staff realized their error. Although his death could have been prevented, the family was able to hold the doctors, staff and hospital accountable for their egregious error.
The Tucker Law Firm also obtained a favorable settlement for another victim of medical malpractice, when a radiologist failed to recognize a kidney stone on a lumbar x-ray. The failure to recognize the kidney stone led to the total loss of our client's one kidney and the eventual required removal of that kidney. Although our client is able to lead a fairly functional life without the one kidney, his settlement will help him with some of his future medical treatment needs.
The Tucker Law Firm has also been involved in other major recoveries for pedestrians and motorists. One such case was a motorcyclist who was involved in a collision with a car. The cyclist suffered a multitude of injuries, including fractures to his femur, tibia, pelvis and foot. Lee obtained a $1.3 million policy limits settlement in that case.
Lee has also been tested in both State and Federal Courts here in Washington State. He has tried at least 12 jury trials and 100's of arbitrations over the course of his career. In addition, he recently graduated from the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College in Dubious, Wyoming. With his graduation, Lee hopes to continue obtaining justice for his clients in the courtroom whenever it is needed.
Lee has earned the rating of Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished* from Martindale-Hubbell and has an Avvo "Superb" rating. Even more important to him, however, are the glowing reviews from past clients who are thankful to have had an invested, committed, attentive and quality attorney on their side. He has met with people while they were still in the hospital, and regularly goes beyond the call of his job to ensure a client's comfort and success in his or her case.
Part of the way Lee is able to maintain a thriving practice is because he constantly looks for new resources and avenues that may be taken. He is a member of the medical malpractice sections of both the American Association for Justice and the Washington State Association for Justice.
