Attorney Terry P. Abeyta, of Abeyta Nelson, P.C., in Yakima, Washington, has more than three decades of experience practicing personal injury law. He has tried and settled numerous cases over the course of his career for clients in the Yakima and Seattle areas.
After graduating at the top of his class from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, Mr. Abeyta earned his law degree from the University of Washington School of Law. He has been admitted to practice in the state of Washington since 1976. In addition to being involved in many significant cases throughout his legal career, Mr. Abeyta has also authored articles on legal topics and served as a presenter at a variety of litigation conferences and seminars.
This dedication to the legal realm has been recognized by numerous organizations in different ways, including an invitation to the prestigious Damage Attorney’s Round Table (an invitation-only group). Mr. Abeyta is also listed in the publication “The Best Lawyers in America” and was recognized as one of the “Leading 500 Plaintiff’s Lawyers in America” by Lawdragon. He received this honor as a result of a case involving a tribal jail suicide that lead to a record-breaking settlement.
In addition to his law practice, Mr. Abeyta has served in various roles for the Washington State Association for Justice and is a former president of the Yakima County Bar Association and the American Board of Trial Advocates. Other organizations he belongs to include the American Association for Justice and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an organization of attorneys who have recovered verdicts or settlements for their clients in excess of $1 million.
