The managing partner at Charleston, West Virginia-based Bailey, Javins, & Carter L.C. Timothy C. Bailey devotes his practice to helping area residents in a wide range of personal injury and wrongful death matters. Mr. Bailey was born into a coal mining family, and he has advocated tirelessly on behalf of miners who were injured in industrial accidents or became sick after being exposed to toxic substances in the workplace. He also handles cases arising out of defective automobile design.
After graduating in 1988 from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science cum laude in finance, Mr. Bailey remained in Morgantown and was awarded his Juris Doctor from the West Virginia University College of Law in 1991. Upon graduation, he was named to the Order of Barristers for his achievements in oral advocacy and legal writing. Admitted to practice in West Virginia and Kentucky, Mr. Bailey is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 4th, 6th and Federal Circuits.
Mr. Bailey’s successes in the courtroom and at the negotiating table have earned him membership in both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He is a former president of the West Virginia Association for Justice, and he serves on the board of governors of the American Association for Justice. Highly regarded by his fellow attorneys, Mr. Bailey has received an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and an "Excellent" peer review rating through Avvo. He has also donated his time to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
