Brian Spellen

The founder of Spellen Law, Brian Spellen provides assistance to people who have been injured on the job or as a result of the negligence or recklessness of other parties, and he also handles some consumer protection cases. From his office in Birmingham, Alabama, he represents clients throughout the surrounding areas and across the state. Mr. Spellen is a graduate of Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, where he majored in finance and received a Bachelor of Arts in 2001. He subsequently went on to attend Samford University's Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, and in 2009, he was awarded his Juris Doctor.

Mr. Spellen has been able to obtain many favorable results for his workers’ compensation clients, including numerous six-figure settlements and jury awards. In one case where the employer and its insurance company refused to make an adequate offer, he went to court and won a $260,000 for a worker who had fallen off of an embankment and injured his back.

Mr. Spellen’s personal injury and wrongful death practice has encompassed claims involving misdiagnoses and other types of medical malpractice, defective products, and truck and other motor vehicle crashes. Here, too, he has seen his clients receive significant compensation, whether through his efforts in the courtroom or at the negotiating table. Some of Mr. Spellen’s representative results have included a $250,000 settlement of a motor vehicle claim where a negligent driver ran through a red light and collided with a vehicle in which his client was an occupant and a $100,000 jury verdict after a trial involving a head-on collision. A member of the Alabama Association for Justice and other professional groups, he has been admitted to practice in Alabama since 2009.
